What it is like
Stand-up paddle means standing on a board and paddling with a single paddle. You learn it in a few minutes: you start on your knees and stand up once you feel steady. Lake Siriu is calm, just right for first strokes, and the views are stunning. The guide prepares your board, shows you how to stand and paddle and stays with you the whole time.

How it goes
- Book: call us, message us on WhatsApp or send the request from the website, for any day of the week.
- We meet at the base, at Pensiunea La Lac, and you ride with us in the minibus if there are seats, or straight on the shore of Lake Siriu.
- The guide prepares your board, life jacket and leash and shows you how to stand and paddle.
- You start on your knees to get used to the board, then stand up. It only takes a few minutes.
- You paddle across the still lake to beautiful spots: some exercise, a swim, sunbathing, photos on the water.
- At the end you can shower and change at the base.

Good to know
- For SUP you need a board, a paddle and a little balance. A calm lake is the perfect place for your first strokes.
- You do not need to know how to swim: the life jacket keeps you afloat and the leash keeps you by the board if you fall in.
- Children can come from age 7.
- We have 22 boards: 12 inflatable and 10 rigid fibreglass ones.
- An outing starts from 5 people. Fewer of you? Ask us.
- An outing lasts about 3 hours, sometimes longer, depending on the route.
- Outings without a guide can also be arranged, for people who already have experience.
- Groups of more than 10 people get a discount.

Where it is and how to get there
Kayak and stand-up paddle outings are on Lake Siriu, the reservoir among the Buzău Mountains a few kilometres upstream of Nehoiu. We meet at the base in Păltineni, Nehoiu (on the DN10 Buzău–Brașov road), or straight at the lake — about two hours from Brașov and two and a half to three hours from Bucharest.
